Villa Ferraia is designed to celebrate the relationship between man and nature in the pursuit of otium, as understood in ancient Rome. Otium, true leisure, not intended as idle, but as activities that nourish the soul.

Our idea in 1995, was to create a place of sublime beauty and bring together all our passions. From that day we have worked to involve our guests in the multiplicity that is often hidden from the outside world. The Villa already existed back in 1204, when it became part of the Republic of Siena. This particularly beautiful area to the south of the city of Siena is home to the most spectacular landscapes and biological diversity and is surrounded by wooded hills and valleys with breath-taking views.

Villa Ferraia is composed by three adjoining buildings where the rooms are located. Often, they can be accessed by cosy lounges where guests can meet on comfortable sofas to read, listen to music or sample a fine Tuscan wine.

Guests of the original building are treated to tasteful interiors and respect for materials: terracotta tiles, wooden beams, wrought iron, and great care with color combinations. The 14 rooms in the villa that can accommodate 28 people, are large (15-20 m²), bright and furnished with period furniture.

The hospitality we aim to provide is linked to the features of this context and the Tuscan culture guests come to surround themselves with.  All members of our family directly involved in managing the premises are convinced not only of the sacredness of our guests but also that those who come a long way to spend special moments with us deserve a lot of attention, time and respect.

The staff at Villa Ferraia are all Italian to make the Tuscan experience we offer even more genuine. In contrast with the trend of globalization we are all engaged in offering our guests not only a warm welcome but discretion and service to provide all the help required to understand and feel part of everything around them when they are here at Villa Ferraia.

Villa Ferraia is surrounded by a large private park that is an intermediary area between the historical building and the surrounding area. Atmosphere, lights, colours aromas and sounds. The landscape extends to valleys and hills as far as the eye can see. The park is forested, dotted with clearings of enchanted beauty and with streams rocks and coves. The park provides total privacy which is helped by the fact that the entire area is surrounded by a large fence.

Inside the Ferraia farm, in addition to a vegetable garden and semi-wild animals and poultry, we have our own equestrian centre with around fifteen horses and a few donkeys and a mule. Well we have these beautiful animals not only for a daily quota of looks and caresses that have incredible regenerative effects on the mood and the psyche in general, but we keep them as pets for all kinds of excursions on foot in the surrounding woods on the numerous fascinating trails and routes, to carry the delicious food for picnics in the woods.  We also offer a full immersion course in hugs and caresses accompanied by apples and carrots that they really appreciate.
