Our team headed to Aspen, Colorado for a quick refresher on why this high-altitude hotspot delivers more than just great skiing. With the first lodge opening almost a century ago, Aspen is a leader in world-class outdoor recreation, dining fit for any foodie and top-tier hospitality. Throw in the showstopping views, and Aspen is a go-to you won’t want to miss this year.

While the drive from Denver, Colorado is about 3.5 hours (in ideal traffic/weather conditions), we recommend flying into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE), just 3 miles from Aspen and 6 miles from Snowmass Village. The airport offers a growing number of direct flights and hundreds of one-stop connections via airports like Denver International (DEN). It’s a time saver.

During your stay

Aspen offers fantastic pedestrian access and a wide selection of bars, bistros, cafés and boutiques. You can walk to almost anywhere in the quaint downtown (on the occasional heated sidewalk to boot). Keep in mind: the altitude effects are real, so you may find yourself short of breath or really feeling your après-ski cocktails. Stay hydrated and take it slow!
